We recommend driving scenic route 128 west. Let the red carpet to the Mendocino Coast roll-out before you. Take in the bucolic apple orchards of Boonville & Philo, the rolling vineyards of Anderson Valley wine country, and finally Navarro’s towering redwoods, all leading you to the grand Pacific. Highway 20 will get you to the Coast, but it doesn’t match 128’s splendor.
If you can drive Highway 1 south to Jenner or further, we love that drive up, as well. If you are coming from the north, we recommend jumping on Highway 1 in Leggett for the scenic route.
