Our Goal is to Make
All Guests Feel Welcome
Nicholson House Accessibility Statement
Nicholson House at Beaujolais, built in 1891 and located within the Mendocino and Headlands Historic District, is dedicated to making all guests feel welcome. Due to the historic nature of our property within the historic landmark that is Mendocino Village, we recognize that some areas of our property may present accessibility challenges. We are committed to assisting all guests with accommodation requests wherever possible and to exploring accessibility improvements that respect the historic and environmental elements of our site.
Accessibility Information
- Entrance & Common Areas: There are four steps with a handrail leading into the Main House and rooms 1-6. Guest room 10 is our most accessible room, located near parking and before any outdoor steps. Access to the garden, which leads to guest rooms 7- 9, also requires navigating four steps with a handrail. Two individual steps without handrails are also situated along the main garden path, where there is mixed terrain and a small pond.
- Suite Accessibility: While we do not have ADA-compliant suites, our most accessible accommodations are listed below.
- Superior Garden King (10) is a private, accessible first-floor room conveniently located near parking. The room is on a single level, offering no-step barriers. Featuring a roll-in entrance, hard flooring, and an all-tile bathroom with a glass-enclosed curbless shower.
- Superior King Suites (1 & 2) are located on the first floor of the Main House. These suites, close to the parking area, are on a single level. All accommodations 1-9 feature glass-enclosed, walk-in showers with low curbs.
- Additional Suite Details: The Garden King North (9) requires the navigation of four paved steps with a handrail. This suite has a two-step entrance within the guest suite, a handrail at the landing. The Garden Double Queen South (8) requires the navigation of four paved steps with a handrail, as well as two individual steps without handrails, along the garden path. Guest accommodations 3-7 are located on the second floor and accessible only by stairs. Two of the three Deluxe Queen Rooms (4 & 5) each have a single step-down leading into the bathroom area. Like all accommodations 1-9, the Deluxe Queen features glass-enclosed, walk-in showers with low curbs.
- Parking: We do not currently offer designated ADA parking spaces. However, there are two reserved guest parking spots near the main entrance, and free street parking is available.
We aim to accommodate guest-specific needs and encourage anyone with accessibility requests or questions to contact us directly. Please reach out to us by phone at (707) 937-0312 or via email at stay@beaujmendo.com.
